Revenue Model

In building the Heptomusee app, we are considering what revenue model to adopt. This will significantly change the app’s structure. We are considering the following:

  • A paid app with a one-time purchase
  • An app with a trial play option, with in-app purchases to remove restrictions
  • A free app

Revenue from free apps:

  • Ad revenue
  • Selling paid items

Advertisement display methods:

  • Continuous display via banners, etc.
  • Full-screen display after a certain number of plays
  • Display in response to hints, etc.

As a paid item

  • Charges for a certain number of plays (including subscriptions)
  • Charges for displaying hints, etc.

Each method has its pros and cons, but we want to avoid methods that impair the user experience during gameplay. We also need to consider how to handle in-app purchases within the game, so we will investigate how to implement in-app purchases in Unity.
