A/B testing of icons

Heptomusee is based on touch controls, and the control icons are displayed on the screen. When using a game controller, the icons of the controller keys corresponding to the touch icons are added.

We conducted an A/B test on this key icon. “A” was a design with a black key icon, and “B” was a translucent white key icon.

Personally, I thought “B” would be better as it blends in with the screen, but the test results showed that “A” was the better choice. The majority of tester said that “A” was the better choice as it stood out more and was easier to operate.
