The puzzle we mentioned in our previous post is now largely complete. Because both the puzzle itself and the UI elements undergo real-time, complex transformations, we faced significant challenges in determining how to present them and in writing the necessary scripts.
When we create a new puzzle, we make it a point to solve it myself—from the initial state all the way to the solution. In this particular puzzle, however, timing is crucial, in addition to the constraints on how the UI elements can be moved. If the timing of a UI action is off, it can trigger unexpected side effects. While Heptomusee is not an action puzzle, it is the second puzzle we have designed in which timing plays a vital role.
